Making the “Rabbit Pack” wedding party picture in Ottawa’s Chinatown
I love looking at the old black & white pictures of the Rat Pack on the Las Vegas Strip.
But this picture was unplanned.
A week before the wedding I had done recon for Michelle and Evan’s day and, as the ceremony was being held at Night Oat at 750 Gladstone (4 blocks from Somerset Street), I didn’t believe they’d want to walk that far.
I was happily wrong.
We made pictures at the Chinatown Royal Archway and were on our way to find a bubble Tea storefront when the Rabbit seating area (there may be a better name for it) presented itself.
I was listening to a podcast last week and the host said something that resonated with me, people who are similar to me “love structure but hate routine”. I like a timed plan where there are gaps to discover opportunities to create once-in-a-lifetime images with couples and their parties who are willing to be open and guided.
