2. Price.

The most experienced wedding photographers charge the rates they do because they are experienced
in the wedding niche, have a recognized talent & professionalism, have invested in professional grade equipment, carry liability insurance, pay taxes and are in high demand because of referrals.

However, sometimes, price doesn't match wedding budget reality.

You can reexamine your entire budget or start seeking other photographer options.
There are numerous Facebook groups for weddings in your area, do a "call out" for photographers in a post
and make sure you put 1. your wedding date and 2. the budget you have for photography.

Note: when posts contain the words "reasonably priced photographer" or "won't charge an arm and a leg",
the poster is signalling that experienced professional photographers need not apply, when the reality is that experienced photographers
may be interested in working with you if you have a unique style, venue or offer creative licence.

How I photograph weddings

Planning
It takes planning to create a loose environment with both posed and unscripted image crafting. Based on your wedding day itinerary, and with reference to your inspiration board, I'll create my own schedule to be where I need to be when you want me to be there without creating stress (in other words: we'll watch the clock so that you won't have to).

Attitude
Reading the room and mirroring that energy is one of the best skills a photographer can develop. Your wedding is about you and the social environment you have created, my job is to capture you and your guests in the best light and the ideal way to do this is to fit in. My assistant and I dress for a wedding (suits!) and work with empathy and open communication to put people at ease.

Equipment - Back ups to the back ups to relieve stress and allow your day to flow smoothly
Cameras, lights and memory cards are essential foundational tools. While I carry three cameras on myself (each with a different lens for different opportunities) my assistant/second photographer carries two cameras on their body as well. Each camera has two memory cards - with the second card being a back up of your pictures (each image is recorded twice on separate memory cards). In addition to this we have a variety of lights we bring to every wedding as well as an excess of batteries.

The Post-Wedding Process - for every hour of wedding day coverage there will be three hours of photo processing
On your wedding night all of your RAW images will be downloaded onto an external hard drive and, the next day, each image will be reviewed with the best ones chosen and edited for lighting, cropping and colour modifications - these will be true to life colour with some images duplicated with added filters and edits or converted to black and white*. Your images will then be converted to large JPG files whuch are uploaded to your gallery.

*In my experience nothing "dates" wedding pictures more than adding the latest filters to pictures (do a quick search on "sepia bride". or "selective color") this is why pictures I deliver are original "true-to-colour" with touch ups and slight enhancements (with only a few duplicates that have been filtered or made into black & white).

Online Gallery - 1 to 2 weeks after your wedding day

The wedding packages are for the completed gently edited digital photograph files. Once the touch ups are completed your photographs will be uploaded to a personal online gallery and a link will be sent to you. From the gallery you can download your pictures and then save them on your own computer, share them on social media and print them yourself. You can also order prints from my website and I can design photo albums for you.

RAW Files
Sometimes couples will ask for RAW files - if you want these files these will be provided to you on an external hard drive for a 100% upcharge

Sharing Images
It is important for me (and all photographers) to be able to share photographs on my website, in competitions, portfolios and on social feeds - sharing our latest work gets us more business. If you would not like your photographs shared I will sign an NDA for a 25% surcharge.
